Services

Professional energy market services for generation assets, storage and wholesale portfolios

We provide the expertise, processes and operational backbone needed to operate on the wholesale energy market. We support clients with market access, trade execution, balancing, scheduling and asset optimisation.

We tailor our services to the asset type, generation or consumption profile, commercial model and risk appetite. Services can be delivered individually or as part of an integrated service model.

Who we work with

Generation assets

We support owners and operators of generation assets, including renewables, dispatchable units, CHP, biogas and projects combining generation with storage (hybrid assets). We support energy sales, scheduling, balancing cost management and trade execution.

Energy storage

We support BESS owners and investors in defining route-to-market strategies, developing asset operating strategies and managing day-to-day market operations. We help analyse and capture potential value streams, including price arbitrage, portfolio flexibility and participation in selected market mechanisms.

Wholesale market participants

We work with companies that buy, sell or manage an energy position on the wholesale market. We provide market access, transaction handling, balancing, scheduling and reporting within an agreed operating model.

Our services

01

Wholesale market access and energy trading

We provide access to the wholesale market and execute trades on short-term markets, in particular the day-ahead and intraday markets. We support clients in selling, buying and managing their energy position in line with the agreed partnership model.

  • Trade execution on the day-ahead (DAM) and intraday (IDM) markets
  • Transaction handling on a back-to-back basis
  • Support for nomination, reporting and settlement processes
  • Market position monitoring and performance reporting

02

Balancing and scheduling as a BRP

We act as a Balancing Responsible Party and take over agreed operational processes for scheduling, nominations and balancing. The goal is to give clients professional market services and a clear allocation of responsibilities.

Scope may include

  • Handling schedules and nominations
  • Managing the portfolio's balancing position
  • Operational communication in scheduling, nomination and balancing processes
  • Settlement and reporting within the agreed scope
  • Measures to manage and reduce imbalance costs

03

Asset optimisation

We combine market data, weather forecasts, asset technical parameters and trading experience to improve operational decisions.

Scope may include

  • Analysis of generation profiles and market exposure
  • Response to negative prices, curtailment and changing market conditions
  • BESS operating strategies, including charging, discharging and the use of flexibility
  • Analysis of potential value streams for BESS and co-located generation and storage assets
  • Integration of weather, market and technical data into decision-making processes

04

Market and commercial advisory

We advise investors, asset owners and market participants on the assessment, development and commercialisation of energy projects. We combine market and regulatory expertise with economic analysis to shape business models, contract structures and route-to-market strategies tailored to each project.

Scope may include

  • Energy market and regulatory analysis
  • Revenue modelling, business case development and feasibility analysis
  • Market and commercial due diligence for renewable energy, BESS and hybrid projects
  • Route-to-market strategies and asset commercialisation models
  • Commercial contract structures, power purchase agreements (PPAs) and risk allocation

Partnership models

Modular or end-to-end

We can cover a single area, such as trading or BRP services, or a full service model combining market access, balancing, scheduling and asset optimisation.

Transparent settlement model

At the start, we agree the scope of services, commercial model, and the rules for settlement, reporting, responsibilities and risk limits. For client portfolios, we operate on a back-to-back basis, where every trade with a client is mirrored by Aarx's activity in the market.

A smooth operational start

We match the depth of data and process integration to the asset's stage of development. The goal is a structured and controlled launch, followed by gradual expansion of the partnership as the client's portfolio grows.

How we get started

1

Asset or portfolio review

We discuss the asset type, capacity, location, generation or consumption profile, project status, current model for selling or buying energy, and operational needs.

2

Choosing the scope

We decide which elements are needed: market access and trading, BRP services, scheduling, asset optimisation or the full service model.

3

Agreeing the commercial model

We define the rules for trade execution, settlement, reporting, responsibilities and risk control.

4

Operational launch

We set up data exchange and the processes for scheduling, nominations, reporting and day-to-day market operations.
